This privacy policy describes how RentSpec ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our mobile application ("the App").

1. What Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

• Website Contact and Waitlist Data: If you contact us via the contact form on the website or join our waitlist, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore (hosted in the EU) and used solely to respond to your message or send you updates about the App.
• Device Identifier (anonymous hash): Upon first use in the App, an anonymous account is automatically created via Firebase Authentication. This generates a unique cryptographic hash (UID) linked to your device to manage your purchase credits. No names, email addresses, or phone numbers are collected for app usage.
• Inspection Data (local): The data you enter when creating inspections (including property addresses, room names, checklists, and notes) and the photos taken are stored exclusively locally on your own device. This data is never uploaded to our servers or Firebase Cloud.
• Signatures (local): Digital signatures captured during the inspection process are saved exclusively locally on your device for the purpose of generating the PDF report and are never uploaded to the cloud.
• Purchase Data: Information about in-app purchases (report credits and subscription status), processed anonymously via Google Play Billing or Apple App Store.
• Device Data: Technical information such as device type and operating system version, solely for the operation of the App.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Create and manage your inspection reports locally on your device.
• Process in-app purchases, verify subscription status, and track your report credits (anonymously linked to your device ID).
• Improve the App and troubleshoot technical issues.

3. Storage and Security

All your personal inspection data, addresses, checklists, photos, and signatures are stored exclusively locally in the secure storage of your own device. These files never leave your device.

The only data stored in the cloud (Google Firebase Firestore, hosted in the EU) is your anonymous device ID (UID), remaining report credits, subscription status, and anonymous purchase logs (transaction number from Google Play / Apple). This cloud data does not contain personal data.

4. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not share your personal inspection data with third parties, nor do we store it ourselves. For the functioning of the app, we use:

• Google Firebase: Exclusively for anonymous authentication and tracking your credits balance and subscription status. No inspection data is sent to Firebase.
• App Stores (Google Play / Apple App Store): For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions. Payment data is processed entirely by the app stores and is not accessible to us.

5. Photos and Camera

The App requests permission to use your camera to capture photos during inspections. These photos are stored exclusively locally on your device. Photos are never synced to the cloud or shared with third parties, unless you choose to export or share the generated inspection report (PDF) yourself.

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers consumable in-app purchases (report credits) via Google Play Billing and Apple App Store. We do not have access to your payment details. Purchases are processed by the respective app store according to their own terms and privacy policy.

7. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to the processing of your data

Since the App uses anonymous accounts, you can delete your local data by uninstalling the App. To delete cloud data, you can contact us.

8. Children

The App is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We reserve the right to change this privacy policy. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date.
